The first National Library Week was observed in 1958 with the theme "Wake Up and Read!" using our patroitic American eagle as the graphic in the first poster. This motto can't be any more pertinant than today. Now 67 years later, 2025's theme is "Drawn to Read" and my goodness how can I not absolutely love this idea!!?  Tools to celebrate are available on the National Library Week web page.

 It's so important to give back to the community in ways that we can, and offering something fun to help us all smile for a moment is the easiest gift. Pay it forward, one kind act will inspire another, go visit your library, and wake up and read!
